Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support site operations across Oxford for an approximate 6-month contract. The role combines earthworks engineering (volume calculations, testing and as-built data monitoring) with civils engineering support (extracting data from drawings and producing as-built drawings). Please note this is a weather-dependent role - earthworks progress may be affected by ground and weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Earthworks Engineering
- Undertake volume calculations for cut/fill and earthworks operations
- Monitor and manage compaction/material testing throughout the works
- Track and manage as-built data as earthworks progress
- Liaise with site teams to ensure earthworks are executed to specification
- Site Engineer:
- Extract and interpret data from technical drawings
- Produce accurate as-built drawings reflecting completed works
- Maintain up-to-date records to support project documentation and handover
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Earthworks Engineer and/or Site Engineer, ideally with exposure to both disciplines
- Strong working knowledge of volume calculation methods and earthworks monitoring
- Competent in using CAD/drawing software to extract data and produce as-built drawings (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent)
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Good communication skills for liaising with site teams and reporting
