The Technology department is Quilter Group’s primary engine for the delivery of technology change including the provision of robust infrastructure and IT service operations that everyone can depend upon. The Technology department brings technology-enabled innovation to market by developing relevant, integrated and optimised solutions that are scalable, commercially viable and deliver long-term value aligned to the business strategy.

Working as a strategic partner to the business, our mission is to build informed and robust future-orientated technology and skills capabilities that create the right environment for our people and business to prosper with a focus on reducing complexity and excelling in the execution of our strategy. The team is looking to hire a dynamic Technical Project Manager to help deliver the Technology portfolio of work.

You will be part of a team that values working together, supporting each other and delivering high quality change to enable our people and our business to prosper. As part of that team, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering projects; working in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure delivery in line with agreed milestones, priorities, standards and budget.
  • Defining project organisation structures and resourcing models and plans the project and approach, negotiating with supply teams which may be third parties to deliver projects effectively.
  • Leading the project inter-dependencies and constraints and in line with the agreed governance process, standards and reporting.
  • Managing project risks and issues ensuring that they are impact-assessed, mitigated and escalated where appropriate.
  • Managing and monitoring the project performance through clearly defined metrics and KPIs.
  • Measuring and tracking project finances, progress against milestones, and appropriateness and quality of work, and where necessary takes corrective action.
  • Ensuring project plans are produced, actively maintained, of the appropriate detail, and consistently aligned to the project plan.

About You

The Technical Project Manager will have experience of managing software development projects, delivery of digital products, data migrations or platform migrations, preferably in an enterprise environment. Experience in a financial sector is not essential however would be advantageous as the delivery of technical changes can involve a level of business understanding within a well governed change environment. We work with waterfall and agile methods, including tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project and Project Online.

The individual will have the following capabilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle including environment structures, testing phases and release disciplines.
  • Effectively manages change and initiates new and improved ways of working which positively impact our customers.
  • Communicates with clarity and impact; demonstrates excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Data curious mindset with analysis skills to help shape initiatives.
  • Detail conscious; demonstrating task and finance control.
  • Objectively and systematically analyses problems and risks to develop appropriate mitigating solutions.
  • Agile and effective decision making; within remit and executes in fast, simple and focused way.
  • Collaborates effectively with stakeholders and colleagues to positively impact results and deliver effective customer outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, colleagues and suppliers.

  • Strong leadership capability, engaging, motivating, coaching and developing individuals to meet their target deliverables positively.

Qualifications include: Prince2, MSP, APM, Scrum Master, Stakeholder Management and Risk Management.
