About The Role

  • Working hours: Part time working 30 hours per week

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive NHS Pensions Administrator with a strong finance background to support our growing team. You will play a vital role in handling NHS pension queries, supporting clients, and ensuring compliance with the latest regulations, including the McCloud Remedy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the client onboarding process, liaising with financial advisers, accountants, and NHSBSA
  • Gather and review client information to ensure data accuracy
  • Follow up with clients and third parties for outstanding information
  • Maintain regular client communication to update them on case progression
  • Accurately input data and update internal systems
  • Assist in preparing detailed NHS pension analysis

About You

We are looking for an experienced pensions professional with:

  • Proven experience in NHS pensions administration or a related professional services setting (e.g., accountancy, payroll, or financial services)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads efficiently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • In‑depth knowledge of the NHS Pension Scheme, including different scheme variations and how they impact members
  • Understanding of public sector pension reforms, particularly the McCloud Remedy, and how it affects pension calculations
  • A solid grasp of payroll fundamentals, including payslips, gross pay, taxable pay, and pensionable pay
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach to client interactions
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in a professional, compliance‑driven environment

Desirable Skills

  • Strong knowledge of tax implications related to NHS pensions, including annual allowance, lifetime allowance, and pension tax relief
  • Experience handling complex pension queries and providing guidance on pension scheme membership, contributions, and retirement planning
  • GP Pension calculations
