About the Role

Level: 4
Department: Distribution - Professional Services
Contract: Permanent
Location: London - Hybrid

Join our growing Professional Services team to support our Financial Planners and Investment Managers in promoting Quilter Cheviot's services to key solicitor and accountancy referrers. Following significant proposition development and increasing success in proposals and pitches, we're seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to expand our reach, engage new opportunities, and maximise existing relationships.

This newly established role is crucial for creating and generating new opportunities to embed our proposition into the work lawyers and accountants do, creating a "Partnership Model" that adds value to the intermediary firm and directly supports new business growth. This could include working alongside our colleagues not just in the Professional Services team but also our External Adviser BDM team and our Technical and Marketing teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of financial advice, wealth management and how financial advisers, solicitors and accountants work together to serve their mutual clients. Holding a Level 4 industry qualification would be an advantage.

Our goal is to help current and future generations succeed by offering the right financial advice and investment solutions for secure financial futures. In these uncertain times, our expertise and dedication are crucial. Our talents differentiate us, but our commitment to customers defines us.

Reporting directly to the Head of Business Development – Professional Services, you will collaborate with the Professional Services Team, Financial Planners and Investment Managers to embed our proposition into the work of key intermediaries (solicitors and accountants) across the UK. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Being intermediary facing, with a combination of targeted face to face and remote interactions (including meetings, virtual meetings and webinars) as well as working across different teams within Quilter Cheviot.
  • Work alongside the Professional Services Team, Financial Planners and Investment Managers to support relationships with key intermediary firms across the UK.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Quilter Cheviot's products and services and the circumstances in which they may be appropriate for existing and potential clients.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of key intermediary services and identify and develop opportunities to reciprocate referrals where appropriate.
  • Provide training on the above points to solicitors, accountants and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify, develop and coordinate opportunities to introduce Quilter Cheviot's technical support across the key intermediaries we work with.
  • Whilst collaborating with teams across Quilter Cheviot, develop a "panel" of intermediary opportunities, which you will be responsible for servicing.
  • Liaise with intermediaries and internal stakeholders to support the onboarding of new clients.
  • To collate information about target intermediaries from various sources available to Quilter Cheviot.
  • Gather and present feedback about our services, identifying gaps and ensuring we remain competitive.
  • Updating the CRM system.
  • Keep management and the team appraised of sales opportunities, activity and sales pipeline.
  • Attending team meetings and providing a summary of any action points.
  • Whilst we anticipate this role will be primarily office based/remote, some travel will occasionally be required.

Consumer Duty:

Even though this role doesn't directly interact with the end customers, you need to understand our target market and evaluate the value of each service for financial advisers to ensure positive customer outcomes.

About You

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Executive with experience working with lawyers and accountants. The position demands that the candidate independently manage their workload, therefore, strong self-organization skills and a sense of personal responsibility are crucial. The role involves close collaboration with our financial planning, investment management and marketing teams, and the wider intermediary sales team across all Quilter Cheviot's offices, so you will need to be a confident communicator.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A demonstrable entrepreneurial mindset.
  • A Level 4 qualification or be willing to work towards one.
  • Relevant experience in financial services.
  • Relevant experience working with solicitors and accountants.
  • A clean driving license.

Inclusion & Diversity

We value diversity and strive to promote inclusivity in all aspects of our culture. We believe in equal opportunities for all, ensuring that no applicant encounters less favourable treatment based on anything but their skills, qualifications, experience, and potential. We celebrate the unique contributions of a diverse workforce and create a respectful, nurturing environment where every colleague can thrive.

Values

  • Do the right thing: We act with integrity and are proudly committed to going above and beyond in service of our clients and the support we provide our communities.
  • Always curious: We continuously seek new ideas and knowledge so we're one step ahead of our clients' needs. We look for inspiration everywhere and encourage experimentation, recognising that this is how we create brilliant solutions for brighter futures.
  • Embrace challenge: We aim high to transform our potential into meaningful outcomes. With ambition as our driving force and a steadfast commitment to growth, we succeed for the good of every generation.
  • Stronger together: Combining our diverse talents, we accomplish more collectively than we ever could do alone. We speak openly, actively listen, and support each other, and constructively challenge and embrace new ideas. We seek empowerment and demonstrate ownership and trust, with the confidence to make impactful decisions.
