About the Role

Contract type: Fixed Term Contract - 12 months

The role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract and sits within the Chief Data Office (CDO) and reports to the Head of Analytics & Insights. This is a hands-on role to support the operational excellence workstream with data led insights in several areas such as designing and building a robust cost-to-serve (CTS) model that provides clear visibility of current end-to-end cost drivers across customers, products, and channels. The aim of the activities under this programme is to support strategic decision-making, optimising performance and unlocking growth. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills.

The key accountabilities for the role are as follows:

  • Design and build a scalable cost to serve model covering the full value chain, mapping cost drivers to operational activities using activity-based costing principles.
  • Integrate multiple data sources (e.g., finance, operations etc.) into a unified analytical model.
  • Extract, cleanse, and transform large datasets from operational systems and establish repeatable processes for updating the model.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and documentation of assumptions.
  • Develop flexible models to simulate different scenarios to quantify financial and operational impacts under different scenarios.
  • Drive analysis for other data initiatives to support our ambition.
  • Translate complex outputs into clear business insights for stakeholders and provide actionable recommendations aligned to operational excellence priorities.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and data teams to validate assumptions and outputs.
  • Act as a bridge between the technical data and business decision-making.
  • Create and maintain documentation of models, methodologies, and assumptions, ensuring transparency, auditability, and version control.

About You

Qualifications

  • Degree in an analytical discipline (e.g. statistics, computer science, maths) or evidence of equivalent practical experience.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Technical Skills
    • Advanced SQL, strong proficiency in Python and use of Databricks.
    • Experience with BI tools (Power BI).
    • Strong modelling skills e.g. cluster analysis, regression modelling, time series modelling.
    • Knowledge of data modelling and ETL processes.
  • Analytical Expertise
    • Experience in cost modelling, preferably cost-to-serve or activity-based costing.
    • Strong quantitative and statistical analysis capabilities.
    • Experience in scenario modelling, simulation, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Business & Domain Knowledge
    • Understanding of operational processes within a contact centre desirable but not essential.
    • Experience working with financial data (e.g. cost allocations, margins) desirable.
    • Exposure to Operational Excellence / continuous improvement frameworks desirable.
