About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Advice, this role will be part of the Financial Planning team and support all Paraplanning and client administration needs across the Financial Planning population, based across a number of locations nationally, and their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Through your ParaPlanning and Administration management teams, manage the delegation of Paraplanning and client administration work to ensure the needs of our clients are met.
  • Ensure ParaPlanning and client administration processes are regularly reviewed to ensure these are fit for purpose and best support our clients, proactively identifying improvements for the efficiency of the team.
  • Establish strong relationship and an open dialogue with the Financial Planning Area Directors to ensure smooth operations between the Financial Planning and Paraplanning and Administration teams.
  • Ensure relevant and insightful MI is produced regularly to monitor and report on the activities, risks and deliverables within your area. Attend relevant governance meetings as required.
  • Identify and manage resource gaps, escalating as appropriate to the Head of Advice.
  • Assist with technical issues including input into the communication of technical developments, Budget updates and legislative changes to planners and clients.
  • Participate in wider cross departmental of company wide projects as required.
  • Proactively enhance industry and company knowledge, through external and internal sources.
  • Travel is required in the role as appropriate to ensure connectivity with your teams across the country.

People & Leadership Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the team operates in compliance with all relevant legislation, rules, codes of conduct and in-house policies and procedures.
  • To ensure the team is managed within its agreed budget, if relevant, regularly reviewing resourcing requirements and authorising all relevant expenditure.
  • To ensure that employees receive appropriate training and coaching, as well as adequate supervision and monitoring, to enable them to fulfil their tasks, meet required Company standards and enable them to achieve personal objectives.
  • To review regularly the performance of employees in accordance with the Company's guidelines, giving clear objectives and the requirements for the role and, where relevant, ensure that appropriate performance management or disciplinary action is dealt with in a prompt and fair manner, in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, and in conjunction with HR.
  • To ensure that all employees are treated in a fair and appropriate manner and support a diverse workforce.
  • To ensure that appropriate confidentiality and protection of data is maintained for all members of the team.
  • To ensure the welfare of employees in accordance with Company health and safety policies.

Consumer Duty

This role will ensure good client outcomes by ensuring the ParaPlanning support and advice to our clients, as well as the administrative service they receive, is of the highest standard.

About You

  • Must have professional qualification relevant to the Financial Planner role, in line with FCA requirements. A willingness to study towards additional qualifications in QC's specialist advice licence areas, if not held already, is desirable.
  • Proven experience managing ParaPlanning teams in the HNW private client sector, managing administration teams in addition to this would be desirable.
  • Deep understanding of financial planning, investments, and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of legal and tax implications for advisory solutions.
  • Experience delivering goals and targets in a regulated environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including coaching skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to lead in a matrix environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality to ensure team delivery to a high standard.
  • Experience of IT solutions such as Voyant and xplan.
