Quilter Investors, the embedded asset manager within the Affluent segment, creates and manages multi-asset investment solutions tailored to various risk profiles in line with clients’ preferences and financial needs. These portfolios are structured as funds of funds, investing in other managers’ funds based on strategic and tactical asset allocation views.
The Responsible Investment team integrates ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations into the entire investment workflow, including manager and fund research, investment activity, risk monitoring, and stewardship. The analyst will support the ESG integration & stewardship Lead with carrying out the following key activities:
ESG Integration:

Develop and refine frameworks for assessing underlying managers’ ESG integration and sustainability approaches.

Continuously improve the definition of ESG leadership, assessment methodologies, and data requirements.
Training and Oversight:

Provide training and oversight to research teams.

Review fund and firm assessments, ensuring a robust second-line function over the assessment process.

Support the ESG risk monitoring process over the funds.

Maintain open and constructive communication with research teams.
Climate and Net Zero Integration:

Integrate climate and net zero considerations into the tiering framework and assessment process, in line with Quilter’s climate action plan.

Evaluate underlying managers’ approaches to net zero, climate change resilience, transition plans, and decarbonisation commitments.
Stewardship and Engagement:

Support with defining the stewardship agenda and collaborate with portfolio managers and research teams to coordinate and document engagement activities.

Manage systemic engagements with regulators, trade associations, and peers to advance Quilter’s thematic goals on climate, human rights, and biodiversity.

Enhance the systemization of engagement activities using data and technology for better tracking and reporting.

Report on stewardship activities.

Lead engagements with managers on sustainability matters to understand their positioning and disseminate best practices.

Improve the engagement methodology to incorporate SDR (Sustainable Development Reporting) labelling considerations.

To be a successful candidate you will need sustainability and project management experience, preferably within financial services, and be collaborative and highly organised, with knowledge of core concepts for responsible investment. Relevant qualifications in this field would be beneficial. Ideally you will have a strong understanding of RI regulatory and non-regulatory requirements and disclosures and are aware of how ESG information and data is used in investment processes.
You will have strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, and the ability to work across multiple teams with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for demonstrable experience of leading and managing projects, analysing and presenting data and findings, and experience of implementing new process and procedures.
