Role Overview: We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients, a leading global player in the AI space. This remote, part-time contract role is designed for individuals with a strong background in higher education or academic research. You will be responsible for ensuring that AI models can handle complex academic tasks—from summarizing research papers to solving higher-level problems—with the rigor, formality, and accuracy expected in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate AI responses to academic prompts (e.g., essay questions, research summaries, complex problem sets) for accuracy, depth, and pedagogical value.
• Fact-check assertions and data points against credible academic sources, peer-reviewed journals, and textbooks.
• Verify the authenticity of citations and references generated by the AI to ensure it is not fabricating (\”hallucinating\”) sources.
• Write original, \”gold standard\” academic responses that demonstrate proper argumentation, formal tone, and correct citation formatting (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.).
• Assess the model\’s ability to explain complex concepts step-by-step without oversimplifying or losing critical nuance.

Qualifications:

• Strong academic background (Master’s or PhD candidates/graduates are highly preferred) in any major discipline (STEM, Humanities, Social Sciences).
• Experience in academic writing, research, teaching assistantships, or tutoring at the college level.
• Deep familiarity with academic citation standards and research methodologies.
• Ability to write in a strictly objective, formal, and authoritative tone.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment, managing time across multiple projects.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Rate: Earn up to $18 USD/hr (Rates vary based on project complexity and expertise).
• Flexibility: 100% remote with no fixed schedule. Contributors typically spend 5–10 hours per week, with the option to work up to 40 hours.
