Due to growth, we are looking to hire a Senior Global Procurement Lead to join our team based in Pencoed. This is a permanent job opportunity working on a hybrid working model, reporting to the Director, Global Procurement, Instruments and Automation.

Your new role:

  • As the Senior Global Procurement Lead you will be responsible for developing category strategies for assigned categories, leading contract negotiations, optimising total cost, mitigating risk, and managing supplier selection and performance.
  • This role leads productivity and sourcing initiatives and aligns procurement decisions with business objectives through strong market insight, commercial expertise, and cross-functional leadership.
  • The position partners with functional teams to support continuous improvement, supplier changes, new product launches, and strategic business reviews.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Category Strategy – Develop and implement category strategies for finished goods contract manufacturing and other assigned categories. Manage a strategic supplier portfolio to ensure supply continuity, manage total cost, identify risks, and monitor market conditions for opportunities and threats.
  • Supply Agreements and RFI/RFPs - Lead RFIs/RFPs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations across multiple sites and business units. Execute and manage supply agreements, ensuring compliance with delivery, capacity, cost, quality, and change-management requirements.
  • Supplier Relationship Management - Own supplier relationship management for strategic suppliers, including performance metrics, scorecards, and business reviews. Monitor supplier capacity, resolve escalated supply issues, and ensure adherence to supplier governance and Approved Supplier List standards.
  • Negotiations - Serve as lead negotiator for complex, high-value sourcing initiatives. Apply strong business and financial acumen to balance cost, quality, delivery, and risk in all commercial decisions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner with Supply Chain, R&D, Product Management, Quality, and Finance to align sourcing decisions with operational and financial priorities. Influence cross-functional decision-making to drive value, compliance, and service performance.
  • Continuous Improvement & Productivity - Identify and execute productivity and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with sourcing and business strategies, such as cost reduction, inventory optimisation, yield improvement, and supplier process enhancements.
  • New Product Introduction & Innovation Support - Execute sourcing and supplier strategies that support new product development, ensuring technical, cost, quality, and innovation objectives are met.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement.
  • Proven experience leading complex, high-value negotiations and sourcing initiatives with proven results.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including total cost of ownership (TCO), cost modelling, and supplier economics.
  • Demonstrated experience managing critical suppliers and leading multiple supplier performance initiatives and projects related to current work or as required projects outside work scope.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent business communication and influencing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Exposure to global sourcing and multi-regional supply markets.
  • Experience managing new product launches, supplier transitions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Formal training or certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, MBA) is preferred.
