An exciting role has become available at the Newport Council. They are looking for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join their Child Protection team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and investigations to identify children at risk of harm.
- Develop and implement care plans to protect children and support families.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency teams, including health, education, and law enforcement.
- Provide expert advice and support to families and carers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
- Participate in case conferences, court proceedings, and other relevant meetings.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Care Wales.
- Proven experience in child protection or a related field.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a complex caseload.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
