Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join its client’s dedicated team in Newcastle, supporting adults with physical disabilities. This is a varied and rewarding role focused on promoting independence through tailored assessments, equipment provision, and environmental adaptations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping individuals live more safely and independently within their homes and communities.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Carry out comprehensive assessments, including complex cases
- Manage a full caseload independently
- Advise health, social care, and voluntary sector professionals
- Recommend and instruct on safe use of equipment
- Liaise with contractors and agencies for major adaptations
- Advise on re-housing where adaptations are unsuitable
- Maintain accurate records on Carefirst and compile reports
- Supervise OT students and contribute to in-house training
- Stay up to date with legislation and best practice
- Promote equality and contribute to service quality initiatives
Qualifications & Experience:
- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with adults with physical disabilities
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Care Act, Mental Capacity Act)
- Excellent communication and assessment skills
- Commitment to CPD and service improvement
