Our client is excited to offer an opportunity to join our dedicated Kinship Fostering Team during a period of significant expansion as we become a specialist Kinship Zone. We are looking for a committed practitioner to provide an effective social work service assessing, training, and supervising Kinship Carers and Special Guardians.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Assessment: Undertake robust and comprehensive assessments of Kinship Carers and Special Guardians.
- Supervision & Support: Provide ongoing professional supervision to ensure that the care provided to looked after children is of the highest quality.
- Monitoring & Review: Complete annual reviews and other evaluative reviews to monitor the progress and welfare of children in kinship placements.
- Development: Identify support, training, and preparation needs to further develop the skills of carers.
- Consultation: Advise and assist colleagues in placing children with kinship or substitute families and provide an information/advisory service to the public.
- Multi-Agency Attendance: Participate in reviews, case conferences, strategy meetings, and network meetings, providing expert advice and information.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and provide high-quality reports for various professional forums.
Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Hybrid Working: Flexible working arrangements are in place; however, you must be able to be office-based in Bolton and undertake home visits as required by the service.

Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Social Work England registration and a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Post-Qualifying Experience: Proven experience specifically in working with and supporting kinship carers and Special Guardians.
- Specialist Knowledge: A deep understanding of the fostering regulations and the specific challenges and rewards of kinship care.
- Assessment Skills: Evidence of completing high-quality, analytical kinship or SGO assessments.
