We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Forklift/Plant Instructor to join our team. As a Forklift/Plant Instructor, you will be responsible for conducting training and assessment of trainees, ensuring that they receive the highest standard of instruction and support. You will be required to travel to various locations across Northern Ireland to deliver training at our clients' premises and at our training school.
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: 35- Monday to Friday (occasional Saturdays)
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Promote Quickstart Training Ltd’s reputation by maintaining high standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service, representing the company in a positive and professional manner.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their training needs are met and that they receive the highest level of customer service.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Keep up to date with current industry trends and legislation and attend training days as requested.
- Ensure that all operator’s cards and instructor’s cards are reassessed and up to date.
- Ensure that all trainees receive equal treatment in terms of access to courses, assessments, training, testing, health, safety and welfare of all delegates and other persons that may be affected by your acts or omissions.
- Ensure that risk assessments are carried out daily on premises, machinery, training area etc.
- Report any hazards, unfavorable conditions to employers and Course Co‑ordinator.
- Ensure that the training environment is safe, hazard‑free, and conducive to learning.
- Conduct training and assessments for forklift and plant operators, from novice to experienced levels, in accordance with relevant accreditation bodies.
- Plan, prepare and deliver training sessions, including both theoretical and practical components, that meet the needs of each trainee and ensure that course objectives are achieved.
- Evaluate trainees’ performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of their progress and achievements.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Course Co‑ordinator.
Qualifications and Skills:
- ITSSAR Accreditation as a Forklift Driver, or equivalent (RTITB, NPORS, etc.).
- Good instructional skills, including the ability to deliver training in a clear, engaging, and effective manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and trainees.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Own vehicle for travel to various locations in Northern Ireland and laptop and projector.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to providing high‑quality training.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Training: Quickstart will continuously offer training and development opportunities throughout the year on the various types of Forklifts and Plant equipment. If the instructor is not already knowledgeable in these areas, Quickstart will provide the necessary training. Additionally, the instructor may be sent on specialised training courses for further development.
