We’re supporting a growing organisation operating across energy, infrastructure and construction projects who are looking to appoint a Senior Contracts Manager. This is a pivotal position within the business, responsible for shaping how commercial risk is assessed, negotiated and managed across complex, high-value projects. You will be influencing deal structure, supporting bid strategy, and ensuring projects are commercially sound from the outset through to delivery.
You’ll act as the go-to commercial authority across the business, working closely with senior stakeholders across sales, delivery and leadership teams. Key areas of responsibility include:
- Leading the commercial and contractual input on new project opportunities
- Structuring deals to ensure balanced risk and sustainable margin
- Negotiating contracts with clients, partners and external stakeholders
- Supporting bid and pricing activity to ensure commercial viability
- Embedding strong governance and approval processes prior to contract award
- Identifying risk early and implementing practical mitigation strategies
- Supporting project teams post-award on variations, claims and commercial issues
- Driving improved commercial awareness and discipline across the business
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience in a senior commercial or contracts role within construction, infrastructure, energy or engineering environments
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts
- Experience working with forms of contract such as JCT and/or NEC
- A track record of supporting complex, high-value projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong understanding of commercial drivers including margin, risk and cashflow
- Confidence to challenge, influence and guide senior stakeholders
Highly Desirable:
- Experience within energy, renewables, utilities or related sectors
- Exposure to design & build or EPC-style project environments
- Familiarity with energy or performance-based contracts (e.g. long-term agreements, service-led models)
