Job Opportunity: Assessment Social Worker Location: Brent, Greater London Salary: £37 – £38.50 per hour Contract: Temporary, Full-time Closing Date: Ongoing About the Role Brent’s Council's Children’s Services is looking for an experienced and dedicated Assessment Social Worker to join our supportive and passionate team. This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to improving outcomes for children and families. As an Assessment Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in responding to referrals, conducting comprehensive assessments, and determining the level of intervention needed for children and families requiring support. Working closely with a range of partner agencies, you will ensure a child-centred approach while promoting the safety and wellbeing of those involved. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct timely and thorough assessments of children and families referred to the service, ensuring that all needs and risks are appropriately identified. * Provide evidence-based recommendations for intervention, in line with safeguarding policies and practices. * Collaborate with professionals from health, education, and the police to manage and mitigate risks to children. * Ensure children’s voices are heard and their best interests are central to all decisions. * Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. * Develop and implement care plans to address the identified needs of children and families, ensuring that multi-agency collaboration is at the heart of service delivery. * Attend meetings, case reviews, and conferences to advocate for the best outcomes for children and families. What We Are Looking For: * HCPC-registered Social Worker with current Social Work England registration. * Previous experience in children's services, ideally in Access and Assessment or early intervention roles. * Strong understanding of child protection procedures, safeguarding legislation, and assessment frameworks. * Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively under pressure. * Proven track record of working autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent organisational and time management skills
