Job Title: E-Commerce Strategy Manager

Location: United Kingdom (Head office in Norwich)

Reports to: Board of Directors

Department: Strategy/Client Services

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum

There’s not much you can say to make “strategy” sound exciting, right? Half the time it’s just decks, data, and buzzwords like “conversion optimisation” or “AOV uplift.” Which, let’s be honest, can feel about as thrilling as explaining to your nan what Shopify apps do.

But… what if it wasn’t just about throwing jargon around?

What if you actually got to shape the direction of ambitious brands, guiding them through what makes sense commercially, technically, and creatively? What if instead of being the person who swoops in after decisions are made, you were the one helping set the agenda — creating proper roadmaps that clients understand, buy into, and actually benefit from?

What if your role wasn’t firefighting or patching over unrealistic promises, but being the grown-up in the room who can say: “Yes, we can do that — here’s how. And no, we can’t do that unless you’ve got Elon Musk’s budget.”

That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an E-Commerce Strategy Manager who can own the direction of our retained client accounts — making sure what we deliver is realistic, commercially smart, and focused on results. You’ll be the bridge between our clients, our project managers, our developers, and our ops team, keeping everything aligned and moving forward.

And here’s the thing: we don’t want a box-ticker. We want someone who can challenge clients (nicely), translate complex technical options into plain English, and keep everyone’s eyes on the prize — higher conversions, better performance, and sustainable growth.

In a nutshell, you’d be responsible for…
  • Creating and owning 3–6 month strategic roadmaps for retained clients.
  • Balancing CRO, AOV, technical debt, and creative refreshes so that clients actually see progress, not just “busy work.”
  • Presenting these roadmaps to clients and getting proper buy-in on priorities.
  • Working with our Project Managers to translate strategy into ClickUp boards, tasks, and deliverables.
  • Liaising with Dev, Ops, and QC teams to make sure plans aren’t just pie-in-the-sky.
  • Using your Shopify expertise to recommend scalable, smart solutions (not just reinventing the wheel with custom builds).
  • Keeping clients excited, informed, and realistic about what we can achieve together.
  • Supporting sales by shaping new retainers that actually make sense.
What we’d like you to bring…
  • Solid Shopify expertise (apps, integrations, configuration – the whole package).
  • Experience building and delivering e-commerce strategies with measurable results, either on brand or agency side.
  • A commercial head on your shoulders — you know how to balance ambition with budget.
  • Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical people without making their eyes glaze over.
  • The confidence to push back when needed (without damaging relationships).
  • Experience with project/task management tools (ClickUp is a plus).
  • Knowledge of CRO tools, UX best practices, and data-driven testing.

Bonus points if you’ve worked in an agency before or across multiple brands, and if you’ve dipped into quality control, release management, or both sides of the brand/agency world- even better.

What’s in it for you?
  • A salary of £60,000 – £70,000, depending on experience.
  • Remote working — we love seeing people in the office, which is in Norwich, but we also appreciate that this role can be delivered by anyone in the United Kingdom. We would, when you have to pop into head office, of course cover your travel and likewise if you are jaunting off to see a client you can expect your expenses covered.
  • A chance to work with ambitious brands who actually want to invest in their growth.
  • Opportunities to shape real strategy, not just deliver to someone else’s half-baked plan.
  • Half-yearly salary reviews, bonuses if we hit targets, and plenty of room to grow with us.
  • A social, buzzy office with a ridiculous stash of snacks (seriously, it’s out of hand, but they do say an army marches on their stomachs).
  • Trips to clients, conferences, and plenty of knowledge-sharing sessions with a team that genuinely likes what they do.

Disclaimer: Quickfire cannot provide sponsorship for this role. You must have the right to work in the UK.

So — if you’re the kind of person who wants to steer the ship rather than just row it, and you love the idea of turning e-commerce ambition into something actually achievable (and profitable), we’d love to hear from you.
