We are recruiting for a skilled Facilities Technician to join a busy Facilities and Engineering team based in Ystrad Mynach. This is a hands-on role within a small team, supporting site maintenance, engineering activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll need to be proactive, self-motivated, and confident working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general building and site maintenance
- Support engineering activities, including services and LEV installations
- Assist with contractor coordination to ensure projects are delivered successfully
- Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
- Prepare and maintain documentation (risk assessments, work instructions, drawings, records)
- Perform repairs and modifications to facilities and equipment, including basic electrical work
- Update and maintain a computerised management system
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Follow 5S, lean, and health & safety practices
What We’re Looking For:
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to multitask
- Flexible, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Knowledge of 5S, lean principles, and HS&E practices
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical work
- NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant trade (or apprenticeship)
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
- IT literate (Microsoft Office)
- PASMA, IPAF, or FLT licence – desirable
- Awareness of health & safety standards
Hours of work: 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000p.a. + 5% Annual Bonus
