We’re working with a well-established and growing business in Newport who are looking to add a Projects Support Officer to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in construction, lifting operations or engineering support who enjoys being organised, detail-focused, and involved in real project delivery. You’ll play a key role in supporting project planning, producing technical documentation, and ensuring works are carried out safely and efficiently. If you like variety, responsibility, and being part of a hands-on team — this role offers exactly that.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the project management system
  • Produce RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and LORAMS
  • Plan lifting operations and develop safe systems of work
  • Coordinate plant and equipment hire (including cranes)
  • Create technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD (2D)
  • Support lift planning, including simulations and calculations
  • Assist with temporary works design and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and relevant legislation
  • Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers
  • Occasionally attend site visits across the UK

Key Requirements:

  • Experience within construction, demolition, or engineering environments
  • Working knowledge of lifting operations and crane activities
  • Competent in AutoCAD (2D)
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel for occasional site visits

Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Salary: £29,000 – £34,000 per annum (depending on experience)
