We’re working with a well-established and growing business in Newport who are looking to add a Projects Support Officer to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in construction, lifting operations or engineering support who enjoys being organised, detail-focused, and involved in real project delivery. You’ll play a key role in supporting project planning, producing technical documentation, and ensuring works are carried out safely and efficiently. If you like variety, responsibility, and being part of a hands-on team — this role offers exactly that.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the project management system
- Produce RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and LORAMS
- Plan lifting operations and develop safe systems of work
- Coordinate plant and equipment hire (including cranes)
- Create technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD (2D)
- Support lift planning, including simulations and calculations
- Assist with temporary works design and documentation
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and relevant legislation
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers
- Occasionally attend site visits across the UK
Key Requirements:
- Experience within construction, demolition, or engineering environments
- Working knowledge of lifting operations and crane activities
- Competent in AutoCAD (2D)
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel for occasional site visits
Hours of Work:
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Salary: £29,000 – £34,000 per annum (depending on experience)
