We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a busy manufacturing site in the Hengoed area. This is a hands-on role focused on keeping production equipment and site facilities running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position is initially offered on a temporary basis (minimum 3β4 months), with a strong likelihood of a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and site facilities
- Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control system fault-finding and repairs
- Minimising downtime and supporting production uptime
- Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability
- Assisting with equipment modifications, upgrades, and tooling changeovers
- Accurate completion of maintenance records and documentation
- Adhering to all health & safety and site standards
- General maintenance and ad-hoc engineering support as required
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding ability
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
- Experience working with pneumatic systems
- Reliable, organised, and safety-conscious
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications:
- ONC / HNC / NVQ Level 3β4 in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or similar)
Desirable (not essential):
- 17th or 18th Edition Electrical qualification
- PLC or control systems exposure (e.g. Siemens S7 / TIA Portal)
- Experience with automated handling systems
- Workshop / fabrication experience
