We are looking for a reliable and hands-on General Maintenance Operative to support the preparation, maintenance, and refurbishment of accommodation units. This role involves working as part of a team to ensure units meet required quality, safety, and presentation standards before delivery and upon return from hire.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out assigned tasks under the direction of the Site Foreman and Senior Maintenance Operative
- Prepare accommodation units to required standards prior to delivery
- Inspect and assess units returned from hire and report any faults or defects
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times
Duties Include
- Electrical and water testing of units prior to delivery, confirming they are fit for purpose
- Spray painting and hand painting of units, including roofs where required
- Cleaning units to required presentation standards
- Basic carpentry and general maintenance work
- PAT testing of white goods
- Fitting furniture and equipment in line with picking lists and client requirements
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work on own initiative when required
- Work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from the Foreman
- Monitor material and furniture stock levels and report shortages
- Adhere to method statements and risk assessments
- Identify and report any training needs
Hours of Work
- Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay Rates
- Pay rate: £14.00 per hour
- Overtime: Paid at £21.00 per hour
