- Act as the link between the kitchen and restaurant, ensuring clear and efficient communication throughout service.
- Coordinate the flow of dishes from the kitchen to the dining room, ensuring food is delivered accurately and efficiently.
- Check plates for correct presentation, garnishing, portioning and quality before they leave the pass.
- Ensure dishes are complete and match the correct table and order.
- Communicate with chefs and waitstaff to maintain smooth service and appropriate timing.
- Monitor the pass and prioritise dishes during busy periods to help maintain an efficient service flow.
- Identify and communicate any issues with food, orders or service promptly.
- Assist the kitchen and restaurant teams wherever required during service.
- Keep the pass and expediting area clean, organised and fully prepared throughout service.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.
Ideally experienced in a fast-paced restaurant.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to remain calm and focused during busy services.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail.
- Passionate about food, hospitality and delivering an excellent guest experience.
- A team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Able to prioritise tasks and manage multiple demands during service.
- Experience using Toast or a similar restaurant POS system is desirable, but not essential.
- Confident working on the pass or eager to learn the skills required to become an effective Expeditor.
