The Role
Questech Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service PSV Technician on behalf of a well-established and highly respected organisation within the commercial vehicle industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PSV or HGV Technician looking to move into a field-based role, offering a strong salary package, Monday to Friday daytime hours and door-to-door working.
You will be responsible for travelling to customer sites across a territory covering Birmingham through to Leeds, carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles and associated engine systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs at customer sites
- Diagnose mechanical and engine-related faults
- Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
- Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections
- Provide technical support to customers while on site
- Complete service reports and relevant job documentation
- Work independently across the designated field service territory
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and customer service
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle / Commercial Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or equivalent
- Previous experience as a PSV Technician, Bus Mechanic, HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role
- Engine experience would be advantageous but is not essential
Candidates from either an HGV or PSV background are encouraged to apply.
