Our client, an innovative and forward-thinking food manufacturing business, is currently seeking a Production Group Leader to join their growing team. The Role

As Production Group Leader, you will take responsibility for leading a team of operators on shift, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of production targets. You will act as a key link between shopfloor teams and senior leadership, driving performance and maintaining high standards across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of production operators
  • Deliver daily production plans, ensuring targets and KPIs are met
  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
  • Manage staffing, resources, and shift performance effectively
  • Lead daily team briefings and maintain accurate production records
  • Identify and resolve operational issues in real time
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including waste reduction and efficiency gains
  • Work closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues quickly
  • Support problem solving and root cause analysis activities

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or food production environment
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Ability to motivate and organise teams to achieve results
  • Good understanding of production processes and equipment
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving

Desirable:

  • Experience in food manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or similar food safety standards
  • Aware of lean manufacturing principles (such as 5S)
