The Role
As Production Group Leader, you will take responsibility for leading a team of operators on shift, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of production targets. You will act as a key link between shopfloor teams and senior leadership, driving performance and maintaining high standards across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of production operators
- Deliver daily production plans, ensuring targets and KPIs are met
- Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Manage staffing, resources, and shift performance effectively
- Lead daily team briefings and maintain accurate production records
- Identify and resolve operational issues in real time
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including waste reduction and efficiency gains
- Work closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues quickly
- Support problem solving and root cause analysis activities
Candidate Requirements
- Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or food production environment
- Strong communication and team management skills
- Ability to motivate and organise teams to achieve results
- Good understanding of production processes and equipment
- A proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving
Desirable:
- Experience in food manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or similar food safety standards
