Questech Recruitment are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business in West Yorkshire.
Salary: £50,000 + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Engineering Manager to join a close-knit engineering team of four. The successful candidate will lead by example, remaining actively involved in maintenance activities while managing and developing the engineering function.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring plant equipment operates efficiently, safely and reliably to support production, while driving continuous improvement and engineering excellence across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a small team of maintenance engineers.
- Carry out hands-on maintenance and provide engineering support across the site.
- Manage planned preventative maintenance schedules and engineering records.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and implement long-term reliability improvements.
- Purchase engineering parts and consumables whilst managing spare parts stock.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and manage external contractors and service providers.
- Work closely with production and planning teams to minimise downtime.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including Permit to Work systems.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager or Engineering Supervisor within a manufacturing environment.
- A strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance background.
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent organisational skills.
- A commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
- Due to holidays, sickness or training, flexibility will occasionally be required to work:
- 6:00am – 2:00pm, or
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
