We are recruiting for an experienced VMC machinist to work for our client who are located in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
THE DUTIES OF A VMC Machinist:
- Program, set and operate production machines efficiently and produce good quality product with minimum supervision.
- A good understanding of workshop practices including metal cutting techniques, choice of tooling, work holding, speeds & feeds etc.
- Ability to produce good quality components to drawing and show a good understanding of engineering drawings and documentation.
- Ability to understand and follow routings and planning.
- Experience of following working procedures.
- Confidence to report any problem areas affecting production.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and repair.
- Experience of assisting colleagues and providing support to others.
- Improvements to housekeeping.
- Assistance with the general running of the shop reporting to the Team leader / Manufacturing Manager.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
- Minimum 2 years' experience working within a high precision manufacturing background.
- Excellent communication skills.
THE HOURS: Day shift Monday – Thursday 7am - 4.45pm (37 hours)
THE PAY: You will earn an annual salary of up to £31K depending on experience.
