Our client is a successful and well-established vehicle manufacturer, they are looking for people to join their team as a Vehicle Assembly Operative / Mechanical Assembler. This is a permanent role following the usual 3 months’ probation. The company has an on-site Training Academy that all new employees go through, to train up and ensure they are up to speed with the duties required for the role. Ideally you will have experience within the Automotive industry, they are looking for applications from skilled, mechanically minded people with a background in mechanical fitting, assembly, fabrication, or similar roles where hand and power tools are used regularly. NOTE: Your abilities with tools will be tested at the interview with a hands-on practical test. Salary: £13.00 – £13.50 per hour depending on experience + 12% Shift Allowance, which takes it to £14.56 – £15.12 per hour (After training) + Overtime paid at time and a half. Shift Pattern: Earlies & Lates, weekly rotating shift pattern. 4 day week, Monday to Thursday: • Week 1: Monday to Thursday, 6.00am – 4.00pm (3.00pm finish on Thursdays) • Week 2: Monday to Thursday, 1.00pm – 11.00pm (2.00pm start on Thursdays) (During the Training Academy, you may be on a normal day shift until training is complete) Requirements: • Previous experience in a Manufacturing / Assembly / Fitting / Finishing / Production / similar role, working with relevant tools e.g. hand / power tools and air operated tools, etc. • An understanding of engineering drawings / assembly instructions. • A keen eye for detail. • Ensuring that work is carried out to a high standard. • Good time keeping. • An Automotive background would be preferred.
