We are recruiting for a Semi Skilled Mechanical Fitter to work for our client who are located near Shipley, West Yorkshire.

THE DUTIES:

  • To assist in the assembly of machinery and equipment using engineering drawings.
  • Assemble transformers, switch gears and pressure holding release devices.
  • Preparing components for painting (washing and masking).
  • Preparing painted components prior to assembly, such as re-tapping, reaming and cleaning machine surfaces.
  • Marking off, drilling and tapping.
  • Fitting exterior equipment: examples include nameplates, labels, guard switches, guarding, hydraulic hoses, auxiliary pumps.
  • Routing steel and nylon pipework as directed.
  • Unpacking parts and equipment.
  • Fitting of non-electrical machine services prior to testing.
  • Using sealants as directed.
  • Non-electrical stripping of machines prior to despatch.
  • Assisting in the loading and unloading of equipment onto wagons as directed.
  • To complete all shift documentation as required during assembly of component.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working within a high precision manufacturing background.
  • Experience in assembly fitting is essential.
  • Worked to tight tolerances such as .5 microns.

THE HOURS:

Permanent, Full time Staggered day shift. They can choose to work the following however this will be their set shift time:

  • 06:00 – 14:00
  • 06:30 – 14:30
  • 07:00 – 15:00
  • 07:30 – 15:30

THE PAY:

The annual pay rate is £29,750 – 35,932 Per annum.

Skilled Fitters: Apprentice trained who should hold at a minimum, an NVQ L3 in Mechanical Manufacturing or equivalent. Salary: £35,932 per annum.

Semi-Skilled Fitters: Those who don’t hold an NVQ L3, or don’t have enough experience within assembly to be considered for a skilled position. Salary: £29,750 per annum.
