Contract Maintenance Engineer – FMCG Manufacturing Location: Sudbury, Suffolk We are currently supporting a global client in the FMCG manufacturing sector with the search for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-performing site, contributing to reliability, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is suited to experienced engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments and are confident working across both mechanical and electrical disciplines. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain and improve the condition of production machinery across the line. * Respond to breakdowns and carry out root cause analysis. * Support production teams through coaching and capability development. * Drive a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement TPM and lean manufacturing tools. * Use data systems effectively to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement. Candidate Requirements: * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. * Experience with automation and PLC control systems (desirable). * Proven background in FMCG or high-volume manufacturing. * Strong understanding of TPM, lean tools, and continuous improvement methodologies. * Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
