Questech are recruiting on behalf of our client in Leeds for an experienced Mechanical Assembly Engineer to assemble and test machinery and equipment.
The Person:
- Apprentice trained engineer (NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification minimum)
- Mechanical and Technical Flexibility
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Minimum of two years experience in the assembly and testing of OEM (original equipment manufacturer) machinery
- Combined education and on-the-job training within an engineering background
- Hand skills, engineering measuring equipment, quality systems and procedures
- Mechanical and technical skills, basic Lean principles
- Must have worked to tight tolerances such as .5 microns and have at least 2 years of complex manufacturing assembly experience
The Role:
- Assembly and testing of machinery & equipment to meet customer requirements
- Participate in any continuous improvement initiatives and provide constructive feedback to the improvement team
- Support of non-complex tasks to semi-skilled team mates
- Carry out any cleaning pit-stops at the proposed time efficiently and effectively, escalation of any parts, drawing, routings and machine faults
- Report any hazards that may cause harm to yourself or a colleague
- To work within the company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures
- You will be working to tight deadlines and must be able to read from engineering drawings, understand SOPs and the importance of Health and Safety
This role is working Monday to Friday, days. Flexible start and finish times are available.
The salary is £35,000pa - £36,000pa. Excellent benefits package included.
