We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work for our client who are located in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

THE DUTIES OF A DESIGN ENGINEER:

  • Produce drawings specifically for SPM (Special Purpose Machines)
  • Working in line with company procedures and machine capability to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Organised, focused and able to adopt a high level of attention to detail within your work.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

  • Working in a special purpose machinery or similar design environment
  • A genuine passion for and interest in engineering
  • A desire to conceive and design quality solutions
  • A questioning nature and desire to change and improve the status quo
  • Degree or HNC qualification in a mechanically oriented engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in machinery design including mechanical assemblies, linkages, couplings, bearings, gear trains, belts and pulleys.
  • Additional knowledge of kinematics and force analysis would also be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of CAD, preferably SolidWorks, Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail; including both dimensional and geometric tolerance.
  • Computer literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • An understanding of timescales and prioritisation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness.
  • Outstanding time management skills.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working within a high precision manufacturing background
  • Excellent communication skills

THE HOURS: Monday – Friday 8am-8.30am start

THE PAY: You will earn an annual salary of up to £41k depending on experience.
