Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer, they are looking for an experienced Design Engineer / Production Engineer to join their team.
PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE:
- Solid experience with Creo.
- Experience with AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Product Design Suite software is essential. Knowledge of Vault and Windchill would be desirable, but not essential.
- A working knowledge and thorough understanding and application of Eurocodes or similar, applied to your already solid knowledge of engineering drawing principles including stress analysis of steel structures.
- An understanding and good appreciation of Production processing methods.
As the Design Engineer, you will work across both the Design and Production teams, the aim of the role will be to support the Design team in the creation of 2D site layouts along with 3D CAD to produce designs and production drawings for the manufacture of component parts and assemblies for a range of solutions. In parallel, you will facilitate and aid the Production team in process improvements directly relating to improving time to market, maintaining product quality & improving production costs.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting Sales and Marketing operations
- Preparing site plans for discussion with customer and other external stakeholders
- Designing equipment in line with the company's product range
- Preparation of Drawing packs & BOMs for production
- Supporting the production office in Process improvement related to maximising the benefits from our production equipment to improve production flow times and quality
The work will link in across many areas of the company and involve close links with the production factory on a day-to-day basis therefore a high level of effective communication, numeracy and IT skills are required along with your attention to detail skills are key to your success within this role. Your ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across multi-functional disciplines from Sales to Shop Floor is required.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary is £35,000 - £40,000 per year depending on experience.
- Start times 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday with 9:00am to 4:00pm Fridays.
- Start times can vary and be 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
- A friendly busy office environment with your own workstation.
- A supportive, experienced team from which you can learn and develop the role.
- 33 days holiday, including bank holiday.
