As part of an exciting period of growth, we are looking to strengthen our team with an experienced Operations Manager to support our Leeds Depot. Operating nationwide, we specialise in Drainage, Industrial Services, Tankering, and Utility Surveying, supporting clients across multiple sectors with responsive and dependable service delivery.
Working closely with the Depot Manager, you will play a key role in the smooth running of day-to-day operations, ensuring service levels and performance targets (SLAs & KPIs) are consistently achieved. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role requiring strong leadership, organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
We are seeking a proven Operations Manager with strong leadership capabilities and operational experience, ideally within drainage, utilities, environmental services, or industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the organisation, planning, and delivery of work for field operatives handling both planned and reactive jobs.
- Ensure all works are completed within strict timescales and to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
- Take responsibility for company vehicles, plant, and equipment, ensuring servicing, calibration, and maintenance are completed in line with legislation and company policy.
- Manage scheduling and operational coordination, liaising with Head Office, depot teams, and mobile engineers to maintain effective communication across all departments.
- Monitor operational performance against KPIs and SLAs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions where required.
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance across all operational activities and promote a strong safety-first culture.
- Support the recruitment, training, development, and retention of operational staff, fostering a motivated and high-performing team environment.
- Work both on-site and within the depot office to ensure smooth operational flow and effective communication.
- Assist in maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and service delivery across all contracts and projects.
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and operational compliance requirements.
- Effective communicator with the confidence to liaise professionally at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage teams, drive performance, and maintain accountability.
- Proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused approach to operational challenges.
- Strong IT, administrative, and reporting skills.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Previous experience in a similar Operations Management role (essential).
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Experience within drainage, utilities, environmental services, construction, or industrial services sectors (desirable).
