Due to continued company growth, we are seeking to appoint a Class 1 Tanker Driver / Operator to join our Kirkby in Ashfield.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 vacuum tankers for the safe collection, transportation, and disposal of liquid waste, sludge, and other materials.
- Carry out both local and nationwide deliveries and collections, ensuring adherence to driving hours, route plans, and client schedules.
- Complete pre-use inspections and routine maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure operational safety and compliance.
- Safely load and unload materials using appropriate hoses, fittings, and pumping systems.
- Maintain accurate records of collections, deliveries, disposal notes, and waste transfer documentation.
- Work closely with dispatch and operations teams to coordinate routes and schedules efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to environmental, and Health & Safety regulations at all times.
- Carry out tank cleaning and decontamination work as required in line with operational procedures.
- Represent Quest Waste Management professionally on client sites, maintaining high standards of customer service and site conduct.
- Report any incidents, defects, or near misses promptly to management.
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and presented to company standards.
- Support team members and assist with training and mentoring when required.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (maximum of 6 penalty points).
- Driver CPC (required).
- Tachograph Card (required).
- Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain).
- Keen interest in drainage, waste management, or related utilities sectors.
- Practical, hands‑on attitude with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Basic IT skills and a positive approach to learning new systems and processes.
