Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager to join their business in Herford.
Key skills required for the Quality Manager:
- Must have over 4 years working experience as a Quality Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Must have 7+ years in machining/precision manufacturing quality roles/background.
- Strong experience with PPAP/APQP, Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA, and capability studies is required.
- Expert knowledge of GD&T and metrology including CMM, height gauges, and profilometers.
- Proven problem‑solving capability: 8D, 5‑Why, Ishikawa, DOE.
- Audit experience with ISO 9001 (Lead Auditor certification preferred).
- Proficiency in SPC, statistical analysis, and capability assessment.
- Experience in customer‑facing communication and quality escalation management.
- Lean/CI training (Green Belt, Black Belt, or similar) preferred.
The successful Quality Manager will own the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) and lead the end‑to‑end quality agenda for a high‑mix CNC machine shop manufacturing precision couplings, air motors, and engine couplings. Ensure right‑first‑time quality, rapid and permanent resolution of customer concerns, and a strong culture of continuous improvement across all machining and assembly processes.

Working Hours = 39 hours per week Monday–Thursday: 07:45 – 16:45 and Friday: 07:45 – 12:45. The role requires regular shop‑floor presence during production hours and flexibility to support audits, customer visits, and investigations.
