Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Manager to join their business in Herford.

Key skills required for the Plant Manager:

  • Must have at least 4 years working experience as a Plant Manager
  • 5+ years (Production, Mfg Eng, Quality), min. 3-5 years in a leadership role in a manufacturing company, preferably in the machining industry
  • Proven managerial experience, adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Technical background, familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
  • Must be result and performance oriented, with decision-making skills, communication and change management, strong teamwork and people management skills
  • Knowledge of Lean tools (Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma required - Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma preferred)
  • Experience with 80/20 business simplification preferred
  • Master's degree or equivalent related experience required, advanced degree preferred

The successful Plant Manager will provide overall operational performance, EH&S and P&L ownership for the Plant, including hands-on leadership of the Business System which enables continuous improvement throughout the value stream. Lead Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance to exceed our stakeholders' expectations and enable growth in the business.
