The role of Payroll Assistant helps the wider team to ensure that employees under direct responsibility are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities of this Payroll Assistant:
- Ensure day to day pay roll processing for new employees, employee departures, changes in Employee Information, Tax Code Adjustments, Monthly Hours Worked and Store Bonuses.
- Calculate and input SSP, SMP, and SPP, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
- Keep absence spreadsheets up to date.
- Run monthly reports to verify pay rates are aligned with the National Minimum Wage.
- Process month-end reports according to the agreed timetable.
- Address employee queries, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions.
- Escalate significant or unresolved issues to the Payroll Manager.
- Ensure all confidential information is securely stored and not shared with unauthorised individuals.
Requirements for this Payroll Assistant:
- Ideally having 6-month experience in an admin role. Or someone who has a strong interest in finance, credit control accounting or payroll.
- Graduate or Graduate calibre would be consider .
- Good excel experience
- Highly organised and has a good administrative skillset.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
