Quest Search & Selection is currently recruiting for a VP Product – Marketplace. This role will be responsible for defining and delivering the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the marketplace platform. Leading a team of Product Managers, you will drive the development of scalable platform capabilities across merchant onboarding and acquisition, product information management, pricing and promotional tools, and delivery operations. The business is for D2C e-commerce platform, renowned for its innovation and excellence, all within a scale-up culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver the marketplace product strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company's growth objectives and long-term vision.
- Drive measurable improvements across product selection, pricing competitiveness, customer conversion, and fulfilment & delivery performance to maximise marketplace success.
- Lead the development of scalable marketplace capabilities, including seller onboarding, catalogue integration, pricing and promotional tools, and logistics solutions.
- Design product prototypes, define requirements, manage testing and launches, ensuring solutions meet business objectives and customer expectations.
- Partner closely with commercial, technology, and operations teams to build a best-in-class marketplace platform that enhances both merchant and customer experiences.
- Collaborate with global leadership teams to identify market opportunities and translate business requirements into innovative product initiatives.
- Utilise data, customer insights, and experimentation to optimise platform performance, drive continuous improvement, and support strategic decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and delivery.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience leading and developing Product teams within large-scale eCommerce, marketplace, or platform-led businesses, with a proven ability to deliver impactful product strategies.
- Demonstrable success in building, scaling, and optimising marketplace capabilities, including seller onboarding, catalogue management, pricing, promotions, and fulfilment solutions.
- A strong background within eCommerce and marketplace environments, with a deep understanding of the drivers of customer, merchant, and commercial success.
- Proven ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level, balancing long-term vision with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience building and scaling global platforms across multiple European markets would be highly advantageous.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across senior business functions.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in Product leadership roles, including experience operating as part of a Senior Leadership Team and contributing to wider business strategy.
Compensation:
- Competitive six-figure base salary (flexible for the right candidate) + annual bonus.
