Quest Search & Selection is recruiting a Resource Planning Manager - Warehouse who will be working closely with key stakeholders and report directly to the People Director. The Resource Planning Manager - Warehouse role defines and delivers a strategic labour model across warehouse operations, balancing permanent and agency workforce to meet demand efficiently. The role focuses on forward planning, labour modelling, and cost control, while ensuring all agency partners comply with company standards & SLA's. A key objective is to shift from reactive labour usage to a proactive, controlled workforce strategy that remains flexible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and optimising the warehouse labour strategy, ensuring efficient, demand-led workforce planning and reducing reliance on agency labour.
- Drive agency performance and cost control through strong supplier management, KPI tracking, and alignment with Operations and Finance.
- The position leads proactive planning for peak and seasonal demand, ensuring effective ramp-up and minimising last-minute resource gaps.
- Establish and enforce a robust governance framework to ensure all agency partners meet company standards for compliance, performance, and conduct.
What We're Looking For:
- 5 years + experience in labour planning, resource management, or recruitment within high-volume warehouse or logistics environments.
- Has been operating at a manager, lead or business partner level.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale agency labour in fast-paced, performance-driven operations.
- Highly commercially aware, with the ability to assess cost, risk, and operational impact of workforce decisions.
- Experience partnering with HR/People teams on ER matters, including agency workforce performance and conduct.
- Strong analytical and data skills, including advanced Excel and the ability to interpret and forecast workforce requirements.
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders and hold suppliers accountable to KPIs and governance standards.
