Quest Search & Selection are currently hiring for a Small Supermarket/Convenience Store Manager role, responsible for ensuring the smooth running of daily operations while delivering exceptional customer service. Leading by example, you will motivate and support your team while bringing the company's values to life within a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment. This business is a leading supermarket and convenience retailer with stores across the UK. They are also supported by strategic partnerships with fuel forecourt operators and franchise partners. The business is focused on providing customers with a convenient shopping experience, offering a strong range of quality everyday products and essential services close to where people live and work. Please note: this role requires full relocation to an island location within the UK. Please only apply if relocation is a realistic possibility.
Key Responsibilities of this Store Manager role:
- Oversee day-to-day store operations, including stock control, merchandising, and compliance with health & safety standards.
- Manage the store P&L, including sales performance, wage budgets, and overall financial controls to ensure profitability targets are achieved.
- Drive commercial performance by monitoring KPIs, improving profitability, and implementing effective action plans.
- Build strong customer relationships and maintain the store as a valued and trusted part of the local community.
- Support team growth through recruitment, training, coaching, and ongoing development, whilst proactively contributing to succession planning and future talent development.
Key Requirements of Store Manager role:
- Ideally experienced at Store Manager level, or currently working as an Assistant Store Manager or Deputy Manager looking for the next step in your career.
- Proven management experience within a retail, supermarket, or convenience store environment.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop teams.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- This is a relocation opportunity, so you must be flexible and open to a new challenge, with the ability to manage your time effectively and adapt to less familiar settings.
- Hands-on and proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a drive to deliver results.
- Good understanding of retail operations, including stock control, financial reporting, store compliance, and operational processes.
