Quest Search and Selection are currently recruiting for a General Multimodal Logistics Manager. This role is to lead and grow the Amsterdam operations of a leading multimodal logistics provider & with full P&L responsibility, you will drive commercial development and operational excellence across freight forwarding and their central operations hub.
As General Manager, you will be the strategic and operational leader in Amsterdam, overseeing a talented team and driving growth through innovation, service quality, and commercial success.
The roles & responsibilities of the General Multimodal Logistics Manager-
- Lead the commercial and operational strategy of the Amsterdam business with full P&L accountability
- Expanding the multimodal transport offering-covering trailer, container, and value-added logistics services
- Lead and coach cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and performance
- Manage strategic relationships with haulage partners to ensure capacity and reliability
- Identify new commercial opportunities while delivering high-quality service to existing customers
- Drive the development of the multimodal transport portfolio in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Oversee and improve the performance of the Freight Forwarding and Control departments
- Ensuring seamless collaboration with product teams and group-level sales operations.
To be successful in this General Multimodal Logistics Manager role -
- Current or previous General Manager, Site Manager, or Site Director level within a similar operation
- Demonstrated success in P&L management and business development & can show evidence of improving their site commercially
- Proven leadership experience in a senior general management role within logistics, freight forwarding, or transport where you are leading a team
- That you have experience working within a Multimodal B2B or B2C business
- Ideally you have a degree (or equivalent) within Logistics, or CIPS
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent stakeholder management skills
- Calm, agile, and solution-oriented under pressure
- Fluent in English and Dutch
