Quest Search and Selection are currently recruiting for a General Multimodal Logistics Manager. This role is to lead and grow the Amsterdam operations of a leading multimodal logistics provider. With full P&L responsibility, you will drive commercial development and operational excellence across freight forwarding and their central operations hub. As General Manager, you will be the strategic and operational leader in Amsterdam, overseeing a talented team and driving growth through innovation, service quality, and commercial success.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the commercial and operational strategy of the Amsterdam business with full P&L accountability.
- Expand the multimodal transport offering covering trailer, container, and value-added logistics services.
- Lead and coach cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and performance.
- Manage strategic relationships with haulage partners to ensure capacity and reliability.
- Identify new commercial opportunities while delivering high-quality service to existing customers.
- Drive the development of the multimodal transport portfolio in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Oversee and improve the performance of the Freight Forwarding and Control departments.
- Ensure seamless collaboration with product teams and group-level sales operations.
To be successful in this role:
- Current or previous General Manager, Site Manager, or Site Director level within a similar operation.
- Demonstrated success in P&L management and business development with evidence of improving site commercially.
- Proven leadership experience in a senior general management role within logistics, freight forwarding, or transport.
- Experience working within a Multimodal B2B or B2C business.
- Ideally, a degree (or equivalent) within Logistics, or CIPS.
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Calm, agile, and solution-oriented under pressure.
- Fluent in English and Dutch.
