Quest Search & Selection are proud to partner with this retail & wholesaler looking for fashion Buyers! The role of Buyer is to develop and source a trend-driven, commercially focused range that drives profit. Supporting the Head of Buying, you will implement the buying strategy, whilst fostering strong relationships with existing suppliers.
Duties & Responsibilities for this Buyer role:
- Possesses a deep understanding of the full buying process in a design led department.
- Manages an efficient and timely product sign-off process adhering to the critical path and planning cycle.
- Develops and curates a commercially balanced product range while meeting the company's margin targets.
- Be part of product reviews across departments, ensuring alignment on trends, styles, and colour palettes.
- Working predominately in the ladieswear category in creating trend-driven collections that introduce the right level of newness, fashion, and trend.
- Takes ownership of maximising departmental profit through effective negotiation and building strong global supplier relationships.
- Collaborate closely with the merchandising team to track and manage trade, ensuring stock turnover, margin targets, and profit levels are met.
To be successful in this Buyer role:
- Ideally having experience as a Junior Buyer, Buyer or Senior Buyer level within fashion sector.
- Experienced in negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value, cost prices, and lead times.
- Worked with sourcing products from China, SE Asia & Turkey.
- Demonstrated success in developing and trading highly commercial fashion ranges that surpass sales and profit targets.
- Passionate about trends and skilled at driving innovation and newness in a fast-paced environment.
