The role of IT Project Delivery Manager is to lead the delivery of IT projects and business change initiatives across the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and implementation through to service transition and benefits realisation.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, working with internal teams, key stakeholders, and external suppliers to ensure successful delivery in line with governance, standards, and agreed methodologies.
Responsibilities of this IT Project Delivery Manager role
- Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects and change initiatives.
- Manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and resources.
- Establish effective planning, governance, reporting, and controls.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and project changes.
- Oversee commercial activities, suppliers, and third-party partners.
- Build strong relationships with business, IT, and senior stakeholders.
- Drive business readiness, change adoption, and transition into BAU.
- Track project outcomes, benefits, and overall delivery performance.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams to ensure successful delivery
To be successful in this IT Project Delivery Manager role
- 3+ years' IT experience, with strong experience as an IT Project Manager delivering end-to-end IT projects
- Proven accountability for IT budgets, project delivery plans and timelines
- Extensive experience using project management tools and producing regular progress reports
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and functions
- Ideally, experience working within a matrix organisation
- Good knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- PRINCE2 and/or PMP certification would be desirable
