Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of private clients including HNWI’s, non-domiciled individuals, UK Trusts and company directors.
- Provide specialist ad hoc personal tax planning advice to compliance clients.
- Advise on IHT planning and trust set up.
- Promote the services of the Firm in relation to HMRC enquiries and investigations into the affairs of personal and trust clients across the Firm.
- Liaise with clients and HM Revenue & Customs and attend meetings with both.
- An understanding of wider corporate/transaction taxes would be desirable, but not essential.
- Advise on UK property purchase structure for HNWI.
- Advise on Tax Schemes entered into by personal tax clients and options for settlement etc.
- Advise on complex remittance issues for non-doms.
- Develop and implement new procedures consistent with current policies or existing principles.
- Manage and develop a small team of tax professionals within the London office.
- Manage working capital on own portfolio including WIP recovery, billing and debt collection.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong level of knowledge and understanding of personal and trust tax.
- CTA or ACA qualified.
- Experience of working at a senior level, normally consisting of a minimum of 5 years’ relevant management experience in a specialist field or within an accountancy practice.
- Demonstrable experience of working on long term client relationships and of working on a fee basis with clients.
- Good level of computer literacy which should include up-to-date working knowledge of relevant software products and MS Office products.
- Good knowledge of the full range of the firm’s services and the external environment to be able to maximise opportunities for the business.
