Our client is seeking a full time Private Client solicitor with three to five years’ post qualification experience, to join their Private Client department in a friendly and diverse centrally-located Brighton office. The ideal candidate will have experience in taking client instructions, drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney and dealing with the administration of estates. Experience in Court of Protection work would be an advantage, although not essential. Clients include HNW individuals, non-domiciled individuals, and individuals with overseas assets.
You will:
- Draft Wills and draft/register Lasting Powers of Attorney, including dealing with more complex estates and Wills;
- Manage the administration of estates with limited supervision (including drafting forms to account to HMRC);
- Draft accounts for estates;
- Have experience in dealing with Court of Protection work;
- Manage your own cases in your own name.
While you will be joining a team, with supervision, the role does come with a high level of autonomy and will suit someone eager to progress their career and to carve out their own niche and develop a practice. Progression within the firm is aptitude based and is not directly linked to years’ PQE. The role would suit an ambitious individual who is keen to accelerate their career. They are flexible in their approach to working practices and promote agile working. While some office-based work will be required, due to the nature of our work, they will consider hybrid working arrangements.
