Brief outline of the role: We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Joinery Project Manager to join our expanding team and take ownership of allocated projects throughout preconstruction, construction and post-construction. The ideal candidate should have a background in joinery / carpentry and possess a good understanding of the industry.
Key duties:
- Manage projects of varying sizes; this may be one project or several smaller projects simultaneously.
- Run projects from design, procurement and through all stages of construction.
- Preparing, agreeing, and working to programme.
- Implementation of the programme and ensuring design, material and labour are fully resourced.
- Undertaking preconstruction surveys.
- Producing and managing detailed design information to enable manufacture.
- Assisting with project budget development for the cost plan, and monitoring this as the project moves through its stages.
- Managing project delivery teams.
- Managing and maintaining client relationships.
- Delivering works to an exceptional standard and level of quality.
- Delivering continual improvement in H&S.
Key skills:
- Should have an in-depth knowledge of the joinery / fit-out industry and a good understanding of materials and finishes.
- Experience of the construction management processes, means and methods.
- Have the ability to create project plans and budgets and to deliver results within their parameters.
- Skilled at leading and developing a team.
- A strong team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible working attitude with a positive and engaging approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literate.
Qualifications:
- A levels / Higher education - preferred
- SSSTS / SMSTS – H&S training - preferred
- CSCS card - Essential
