This position involves working within the Modelling & Simulation (M&S) discipline, supporting development across the product lifecycle, from concept analysis to Test & Evaluation (T&E) and Training. The role focuses on developing the Project X Active Cockpit simulator and its utilities, prototyping new avionics and cockpit designs, and involves advanced software development, trial preparation, and analysis. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week on-site at the customer location, preferably in Preston, UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing software for the Project X Active Cockpit simulator.
- Managing requirements, design, implementation, system integration, and testing.
- Following systems engineering practices.
- Reporting progress and providing feedback.
- Producing technical documentation.
- Designing technical solutions, integrating COTS hardware/software.
- Planning and estimating development activities.
- Managing technical risks.
- Supporting delivered systems and resolving issues with customers.
- Technical management and mentoring of team members.
- Refining development processes.
- Developing system architectures to meet IT & IT security requirements.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
