Role Description
Typical Activities expected to be performed by Service/ Repair Engineer:
- Construct new methods and procedures for overhaul of aero engines.
- Validating the procedural steps in the engine manual by observing the shop implementation of the procedures.
- Optimisation of maintenance activities.
- In-Service Issue Analysis (Operational/ Maintenance).
- Identification of potential repair procedures.
- Standardisation of work practices in shop.
- Define Best Practices to prevent material handling damage.
- Reporting of various findings and recommendations.
Education
Experience
- Minimum 4 Years, post qualification, hands on experience on aeroengines in an MRO, Airlines/ Aerospace & Defence and related service organisation.
A proactive, energetic individual with extensive knowledge of :
- Gas turbine aeroengines, engine components and their function during engine operation.
- Working of various engine systems e.g. oil, fuel, air, bleed etc.
- Failure/ deterioration mechanisms leading to component/ system failures or distress.
- Troubleshooting of failures.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance, repair/service of aeroengines.
- Various inspection methods including Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques.
- Various types of repairs which can be applied to components.
- Various manufacturing techniques and their application during component repair.
- Part drawing reading and GD&T concepts.
Required Skills
- Good hands on experience in using MS Office ( Word, Excel, Power Point and similar tools).
- Good understanding of engine manuals and their layout, etc.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of key Aircraft Systems.
- Understanding of various delivery excellence and quality control systems.
- Knowledge of AS9100/ ISO9001 and Six Sigma Tools will be an added advantage.
