Key Responsibilities

  • A project planner works as part of the project delivery team and will be accountable for developing and maintaining work package schedule(s).
  • The planner will serve as the planning and scheduling SME, supporting the team to build robust schedules that capture 100% of work scope, in accordance with SMR planning processes and guidelines.
  • Once established, the planner updates the schedules to reflect progress, analyses schedule data by comparing forecast and baseline dates, and advises the team on corrective actions.

  • Experience of coaching and mentoring
  • Experience in providing training to junior staff on the role and associated processes

Integrated Programme Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience of the structure and reporting of a Master Integrated Plan (MIP) or Integrated Master Plan (IMS) and its associated Integrated milestone schedule (Horizontal and Vertical Logic)
  • Working with key stakeholders within the integrated Programme (Engineering, Supply Chain & Procurement, Programme Management, Operations and Manufacture)

Project Management Tools & Process

  • Knowledge and experience of Primavera P6 (both front end scheduling and architecture (WBS, Resource dictionary, coding, and user defined fields))
  • Knowledge and experience of Earned Value Management and EVM systems
  • Knowledge and experience of change management and baseline change control

Technical Knowledge – Nuclear & Engineering

  • Knowledge and experience of working in the Nuclear sector
  • Knowledge and experience of working on complex programmes
  • Knowledge and experience in Engineering design maturity

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 (Practitioner) – Mandatory
  • APM PMQ or Equivalent – Mandatory
  • APM PPC (Practitioner) or Equivalent – Ideally (Experience in working on a complex programme within a project controls (PMO) environment)
  • Strong knowledge of project controls (Earned Value, Change Control and baseline management, Reporting)
